Gang attacks 19-year-old, his grandma

Chennai: A gang of four broke into a house at Thiruverkadu and attacked a man on Sunday night. His grandmother, who tried to rescue him, also suffered cut injuries.The youth Arokiasamy, 19, of Sridevi Nagar, is employed at a private company in Kumananchavadi.On Sunday night, when he was asleep at home, four men barged in and attacked Arokiasamy. Hearing his cry for help, his grandmother Vaitheeshwari and wife Lakshmi rushed to the spot and tried to rescue him. The men attacked Vaitheeswari, and before Lakshmi could raise the alarm, the gang escaped. The victims were rushed to the Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.Thiruverkadu police have registered a case and have launched a hunt for the gang. Since it was dark, the victims could not identify the attackers. Police are checking the CCTV footage.
