Galaxy Health Insurance to foray into travel insurance

Chennai: Galaxy Health Insurance will foray into the travel insurance segment, its MD & CEO G. Srinivasan said. The standalone health insurer is working on the modalities for the purpose."Our Gross Written Premium (GWP) stood at ₹85 crore since our launch last year. We are looking at a GWP of ₹400 crore by FY27," he told reporters here on Monday. The company launched its 12th product — Galaxy Twin 360 — which integrates comprehensive inpatient protection, high-value outpatient (OPD) benefits and wellness services.To a query on the impact of GST, he said the impact on standalone health insurance companies is much higher than on general insurance companies. "The impact has been roughly assessed at 5%–6% of the premium on the bottom line," he added.
