Gag order on Seeman extended until Oct 15

Chennai: A Madras high court order restraining NTK chief coordinator Seeman from making defamatory statements against DIG Varun Kumar IPS has been extended until Oct 15.Justice P Dhanabal passed the order on Monday as a counter-affidavit was not filed on behalf of Seeman responding to a plea moved by Varun Kumar.Varun Kumar contended that Seeman began a personal tirade against him ever since he acted against an NTK member, ‘Sattai' Duraimurugan. Duraimurugan was arrested by Tiruvallur district police for causing a law-and-order issue due to a false claim on his YouTube channel that Foxconn factory workers died from food poisoning. Following the arrest, Seeman developed animosity towards him, the officer said. He added Seeman called him a ‘beggar' and sullied the image of the police force in the country by saying that he was ‘after all an IPS officer'. TNN
