CHENNAI: A CBI court in Chennai on Thursday sentenced former regional director of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to one-year rigorous imprisonment for accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe from a Tamil film producer.

The Anti-Corruption Wing of the CBI caught Rajasekar red-handed in 2010 while he was accepting Rs 10,000 from the producer to view his film and issue certification.
After investigation of the case, CBI sleuths filed a chargesheet against the accused under sections 7 & 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
