Police on Monday night arrested two men who plundered temples in Neelan karai and neighbouring suburbs by breaking open hundis and taking cash and valuables.

Chennai: Police on Monday night arrested two men who plundered temples in Neelan karai and neighbouring suburbs by breaking open hundis and taking cash and valuables.
Police identified the bur glars as Mohan, 20, and Ajith 19, from a video footage taken from a temple they had broken into.
Police nabbed the two men both residents of Neelanka rai, from a hideout in Panrut in Cuddalore district, around 170km south of Chennai.

“The two men have admitted to their crimes,“ a police officer said.
Police said the two men met in prison while serving a jail term for earlier thefts They teamed up and began tar geting temples at night. Using improvised tools, they special ized in breaking hundis.
