CHENNAI: The Ashok Nagar police arrested five men, including a Senegalese national, in two separate cases for possessing methamphetamine. The police recovered 69 grams of the drug from them.

On Sunday, the police were monitoring the locality based on a tip-off and found three men acting suspiciously. When checked, the police found 59 grams of the drug in their possession. The police recovered the drug along with Rs 32,000 in cash and arrested S Sunil alias Jayaprakash, 30, of Bengaluru, Victor Wade, 31, of Senegal and Pushpendra Singh,24, of Rajasthan.

Two other men, Naim-il-Haq, 31, of Bengaluru and J Nirmal Prince, 35, of Coimbatore, were arrested by the police on Friday. The police recovered 10 grams of methamphetamine from them. After an inquiry, all five were sent for judicial remand.
