Five arrested for smuggling cocaine, meth, ganja

Chennai: Five people, including three college students, were arrested on charges of smuggling and selling cocaine, methamphetamine, and original Ganja (OG) at Choolaimedu. Police seized 51 grams of methamphetamine from them.
Based on a specific tip off, a police team led by the Choolaimedu police tracked the suspects selling synthetic drugs targeting college students. The team monitored the movements of the drug and apprehended a suspect, Nalin Fasid, 32. Based on his confession, the officials arrested An-Riyan Soni, 19, Mikan, 20, and Ayan Khan, 23, who are students of a city college, and Mayur, 35.
When the police team searched the students' rooms, they found 51 grams of cocaine, 850 grams of Ganja, and three grams of OG from their room. The five arrested suspects were produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
The Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) officials are tracking the network behind the gang. The officials plan to track their mobile call log. Meanwhile, they are also seeking the court's permission to take key suspects in their custody.
