CHENNAI: Managing director of Amma Creations Private Limited T Shiva and film producer Balaguru appeared before Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Sunday for an enquiry following the arrest of Madhan of Vendhar movies over alleged misappropriation of money obtained from students for medical admission. Since Madhan went missing on May 29, nearly 120 complaints of cheating were received from medical aspirants who accused him of not returning money collected as capitation fees after assuring them of seats in SRM Medical College.

The amount involved totalled `84.59 crore.
After Madhan was arrested by a special police team in Tirupur last week, he told police that he had given money to various film producers. Based on this, summons were issued to T Shiva and Balaguru, who worked with Madhan in Vendhar Movies, to appear before them. They were questioned about Madhan's claim, the movies they produced recently and their source of money . Sources said summons had been sent to more than 20 people in the film industry based on Madhan's confession.
