Father-daughter duo injured as MTC bus hits two-wheeler in Chennai

The MTC bus, plying between Ice House to Avadi, was coming down the butterfly wing of the Anna flyover when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The bus hit a two-wheeler and a car before coming to a halt. The accident happened at 8.30am.

CHENNAI: A man and his daughter suffered injuries when an MTC bus hit a two-wheeler in Chennai on Thursday morning.
The MTC bus, plying between Ice House to Avadi, was coming down the butterfly wing of the Anna flyover when the driver lost control of it. The bus hit a two-wheeler and a car before coming to a halt. The accident happened at 8.30am.
Two-wheeler rider Ragavendran Achari, 53, a resident of VM Street at Royapettah, suffered a fracture on his right leg.

His daughter, R Iswaryah, who was riding pillion on the two-wheeler, suffered minor injuries. They were sent to Government General Hospital.
Based on Ragavendra’s complaint, the Pondy Bazaar traffic investigation police registered a case against bus driver P S Arumugam for rash and negligent driving.
Police said Ragavendra was going to drop his daughter at her college in Kodambakkam when the accident happened.
