The agency said Syed Mohammed had filed a false complaint with Neyveli police station claiming that his brother Mohamed Farook had been killed in an accident involving an auto rickshaw. Inquiries by the agency revealed that Farook died after falling off his two-wheeler and that no autorickshaw had been involved in the accident.
The special court convicted four of them and let off Khaleeja Bheevi for want of evidence.
