CHENNAI: Economic offences wing CID police have issued a fresh summons to film producer-cum-actor RK Suresh who is believed to be in Dubai after his suspected involvement in the ₹2,438 crore Aarudhra gold trading company private case.

The company had swindled the amount from more than 1 lakh depositors after luring them to invest in their various schemes.

The EOW-CID officials also sought Interpol's help to nab all the absconding directors of Aarudhra holed up in Dubai.

They had already issued a lookout circular (LoC) against actor R K Suresh and three other suspects involved in the scam. Based on the complaint of the actor Ruso, who was arrested in connection with the financial scam, EOW officials summoned Suresh for inquiry. As there was no response from him, the cops started their probe and confirmed that he went to Dubai.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the Aarudhra financial firm managing director, Rajasekar, his wife Usha and a few other directors of the firm was also holed up in Dubai. The cops discovered that these firm owners had invested more than ₹500 crore in Dubai to avail the facilities provided by the Dubai authorities.

Quoting a treaty signed between the Indian officials and the United Arab Emirates, the EOW-CID has sought the help of Interpol to extradite the suspects named in their First Information Report (FIR).

The EOW registered a case for offences punishable under Section 420 (cheating) besides the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes (BUDS) Act and the Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositors (TNPID) Act.
