Eaton breaks ground for its new GEIS facility in Chennai
CHENNAI: Power management company Eaton held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new GEIS (Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions) facility in Sholinganallur, Chennai, on Friday. This is a significant step in Eaton’s expansion in India, said the company in a statement.
The ceremony was led by chief minister MK Stalin and senior government officials of the Tamil Nadu govt with key Eaton executives.
Spanning 100,000 sq ft, the new facility will feature advanced manufacturing floors, R&D capabilities, an experience centre and Eaton’s state-of-the-art headquarters for GEIS in India.
Expected to be completed by the end of 2026, the facility will enhance Eaton’s “ability to deliver innovative power management solutions across industries while strengthening India’s position as a strategic hub for the company’s global operations,” said the statement.
“The groundbreaking of our new facility in Chennai highlights Eaton’s long-term commitment to India,” said Philipose Jacob, country director of GEIS India, Eaton.
“This expansion will enable us to accelerate innovation, enhance local manufacturing capabilities, and strengthen our commitment to delivering sustainable and cutting-edge power management solutions to our customers.”
The new facility will support Eaton’s focus on energy transition, digitalization and electrification, reinforcing its mission to improve power management for a more sustainable future. The company did not disclose the investment amount in the new facility.
