DRI seizes gold worth Rs 4.5 crore from three passengers at Chennai airport
CHENNAI: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) sleuths seized 7.1 kg of gold worth Rs 4.5 crore which were concealed in electrical equipment brought by three passengers at Chennai airport in the early hours on Saturday.
An electric oven, a drilling machine and another electric appliance were found in their checked-in luggage. They were dismantled, and gold was found hidden in them.
Meanwhile, customs officers seized 1.7 kg gold from passengers at the airport.

If the story is true, then why the photographs of the three passengers not published? Are the smugglers celebrities, known to the world by their names? Further, was the gold smuggled for personal use or for someone else? Finally, what kinds of security systems working in other International Airports is not understandable?
