DMK MLA Ku Ka Selvam justifies his meeting with BJP chief, says ‘jasmine in another garden will also smell’ as Annadurai stated
CHENNAI: Suspended DMK MLA
On August 4, Selvam met BJP president J P Nadda in New Delhi and other senior leaders. The next day, he participated in a puja at the BJP office in Chennai which was held when Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a temple in Ayodhya.
DMK immediately suspended Selvam from the party and relieved him from all party posts and sent a notice explaining why he should not be expelled from the party.
In his reply to the notice issued by the DMK, Selvam said the party had suspended him without hearing his side.
“I received a notice asking me to reply within seven days. But even before receiving my reply, I have been suspended from the party and the decision is against natural justice. The suspension must be withdrawn,” said Selvam in hhis reply to DMK president M K Stalin on Saturday.
Selvam said he needs more details to the accusations against him. “The notice does not mention as to how I have violated the party rules. The notice says I provided false details, but it does not mention which details are false. Similarly, the notice says I spoke against the party. But there are no details about which issues I spoke against the party,” said Selvam.

“Hence, I request you to withdraw the notice and hold a probe based on the details I have asked for,” said Selvam.
