CHENNAI: Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dancer S Divyasena’s Divyanjali Dance School will celebrate 25 years with yearlong celebrations starting this month.
On July 26, the institute will launch its fine arts festival, ‘Kalarpanam’, with Bharatanatyam recitals by students of dance schools like Shree Natya Nikethan, Coimbatore and Sri Priyalaya Arts Academy, Trichy.
“We want to make this a platform for young and upcoming dancers from across the country. We also want to bring all the talents together on one platform,” says Divyasena.
Besides Kalarpana, a series of lecture demonstrations titled ‘Natya Satsang’ and talent searches called ‘Nritya Saavishkar’ will be held through the year until July 2020. The lec-dems will start next month, and the first one be held on August 25 by Sreelatha Vinod on ‘Ettuthogai and Ashtanayika’ and ‘Bharathamum Padiminiyum’ by G Sankaranarayanan. The first edition of talent search will be held at Vani Mahal on September 22.
The following batch of these events will be planned for the year as soon as the first edition of ‘Kalarpanam’ winds up.
