On Tuesday, deputy superintendent of the police (DSP), DVAC, Pudukottai G Imayavaramban booked Muruganandham and Gandhimathi for amassing wealth disproportionate to their known source of income. The DVAC valued their properties at Rs 15.73 crore and calculated the percentage of the disproportionate assets as 1260%.
The assets in possession of the two include agriculture land and bank balances, according to DVAC sources.

were carrying out searches on the premises of V Muruganandham, 47, who an assistant at the office of the assistant director (audit) of the rural development and panchayat raj department, his wife M Gandhimathi, 38 and their family members.
