Chennai: Dentist held for abusing partner

CHENNAI: Police arrested a 32-year-old dentist for abusing his live-in partner and allegedly forcing her to have relationships with his friends under the influence of drugs.

The victim, 30, was in a live-in relationship with a man named R Nishanth whom she came in contact through a common friend. The woman had helped him financially too.

When the woman refused to give in to his demands, he threatened to murder her after which she filed a complaint.

After investigations, the Selayur all-women police arrested Nishanth, his friends, Sherin and Hardik, 22. They were produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
