CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government must immediately release guidelines to take up
In a statement, Stalin accused the government of preventing DMK MLAs from spending in their constituencies as it fears the party legislators would gain support from the public.
“Soon after the lockdown was implemented, chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on his own announced that Rs 1 crore out of the total MLA’s LADF of Rs 3 crore. The government also announced that Rs 25 lakh could be allocated to each MLA, but the government has not released the guidelines. Even though DMK MLAs have provided suggestions to spend the money, the district collectors and corporation commissioners are refusing to release the money as there are no guidelines to spend the money for Covid,” said Stalin.
