Coronavirus: Tamil Nadu govt directs monitoring officers to look into Covid-19 management in districts

These officers were appointed to review and inspect various welfare measures in the districts and provide necessary advice to the district officials to sort out the bottlenecks and pave way for speedy implementation of the programmes.

In an order issued on Tuesday, chief secretary K Shanmugam said the monitoring officers should coordinate with the district team headed by the collectors to ensure the effective containment zone management, focused testing, effective contact tracing, isolation and quarantine management for preventing the further spread of disease.
The monitoring officers are E Saravanavelraj (Ariyalur), Anil Meshram (Perambalur), Harmander Singh (Coimbatore), Supriya Sahu (The Nilgiris), Gagandeep Singh Bedi (Cuddalore), Santhosh Babu (Dharmapuri), Mangat Ram Sharma (Dindigul), Kakarla Usha (Erode), Jothi Nirmalaamy (Kanyakumari), C Vijayaraj Kumar (Karur) and Reeta Harish Thakar (Trichy), Dharmendra Pratap Yadav (Madurai), Shambu Kallolikar (Pudukottai), Pradeep Yadav (Thanjavur), Dayanand Kataria (Namakkal), Md Nasimuddin (Salem), S Madumathi (Virudhunagar), Kumar Jayant (Tuticorin), C Munianathan (Nagapattinam), B Chandramohan (Ramanathapuram), Mahesan Kasirajan (Sivaganga) and K Manivasan (Tiruvarur). A Karthik (Theni), Dheeraj Kumar (Tiruvannamalai), Selvi Apoorva (Tirunelveli), K Gopal (Tirupur), Rajesh Lakhoni (Vellore), N Muruganandam (Villupuram), S Nagarajan (Kallakurichi), Anu George (Tenkasi), T S Jawahar (Tirupattur) and G Laxmi Priya (Ranipet).
T Udhayachandran (Chengalpet), K Baskaran (Tiruvallur) and L Subramanian (Kancheepuram) were appointed in the field support team in May.
The state has already set up zonal special task teams and field support teams to visit the districts to coordinate with teams there for contact tracing, quick sampling, testing and releasing results, monitoring quarantine and containment areas, ensuring essential supplies, checking the availability of protective medical equipment, monitoring SARI and fever cases, ensuring proper treatment protocol, disinfection activities and implementation of welfare measures.
