Cops detain 7 staff of money exchanging firm
CHENNAI: Seven more people have been detained over the robbery at the Teynampet traffic signal where a gang threw chilli power on a biker, Jaffer Sadiq, and robbed him of Rs10 lakh worth of US dollars. Police had on Tuesday arrested five people — Thameem Ansari, who was riding pillion behind the victim but had actually planned the robbery, Vicky, Karthi, Arun, and Manoharan.
On Wednesday police detained seven employees of a private money changing agency for issuing US dollars to Jaffer Sadiq without valid documents.

The seven are the firm’s manager Sabir Ahmed, and employees Selvakumar, Venkatesh, Padmanaban, Ashok Kumar, Abubacker Siddique and Mohammad Muthagir.
Police have seized the money.
