Construction worker held for abusing woman

CHENNAI: A 26-year-old construction worker was arrested on Tuesday after he tried to sexually abuse a newly-wed woman in Anna Nagar.
Police said Sidharth Singh, who was employed at a construction site in the area, was staying in a house in Pallavan Nagar and a newly-wed couple had moved into the adjacent house recently.
Early on Tuesday, Singh noticed the man leave the house and entered their house.
He found the woman asleep and tried to sexually abuse her when she raised an alarm. Hearing her cries, some of their neighbours rushed to the spot and beat him up.
He was later handed over to the Koyambedu police.
