College students held for hijacking bus
CHENNAI: A day after police slapped cases against 10 youngsters including eight
The arrested- E Deva, 20, of Padikuppam and R Santhosh, 23, of Padi, who had graduated from a city college last year and the other arrested are N Jayakumar, 20, of Mogappair, R Vijayakumar, 19, of Mogappair East, M Vijay, 19, of the same locality, G Ajay, 19, of Mogappair East, P Chinnarasu, 19, G Nandakumar, 19, of Padi, S Johnston, 19, of Ayanampakkam and R Raghu Ranjth, 19, of MGR Nagar are all presently pursuing their degree courses.

On the same day the police managed to nab N Dinesh, 19, of Anna Nagar, J Ezhaiarasan, 19 from Tiruvallur, both students of Bcom and L Ganeshan, 18 from Ambattur, a first year student of BCA.
The students have been remanded in judicial csutody.
“We would send the list of students to the college. The college authorities have to iniate strict action against them to prevent them from repeating the offence ,” said a police officer.

plying in between Avadi and Vivekanandar Illam at Anna Nagar and climbed onto to its top. A few others from the gang travelled on the footboard of the bus. Another 20 other students coming in motorbikes, followed the bus. The students were raising slogans and scaring away the motorists and pedestrians and also assualted a few passengers who tried to board the bus. The conductor alerted the police who rushed to the spot and nabbed three students, while the rest escaped. The police gathered video tapes from television channels that telecast the nuisance act, and identified the youngsters before making the arrest.On the same day the police managed to nab N Dinesh, 19, of Anna Nagar, J Ezhaiarasan, 19 from Tiruvallur, both students of Bcom and L Ganeshan, 18 from Ambattur, a first year student of BCA.
