CHENNAI: Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said in the assembly on Tuesday that the state would take all steps to prevent Andhra Pradesh from constructing more check dams across Palar

. The issue was raised by DMK MLA A P Nandakumar and Congress MLA J G Prince during the zero hour. The chief minister recalled the steps taken in the past and in recent times including filing cases in the Supreme Court.

“Unless the government takes urgent steps to prevent Andhra Pradesh from constructing check dams across Palar river, several districts will suffer without drinking water,” said Nandakumar.
