Chief secy reviews monsoon disease prevention steps

Chennai: Chief secretary Shiv Das Meena on Tuesday conducted a review meeting on prevention of dengue and other communicable diseases in view of the approaching northeast monsoon. Following a four-year-old child’s death due to dengue in the city, the state government has intensified mosquito control drive, awareness camps and fever camps with the local bodies. A drive is also on to remove objects in which rainwater will stagnate to prevent breeding of mosquitoes. TNN
