Chennai records 9.4% voter turnout by 9am
CHENNAI: Chennai recorded an average voter turnout of 9.4% till 9am on Friday.
The city’s polling booths mostly witnessed thin crowds and many voters were turned away due to EVMs not functioning.
According to ECI data, Chennai North recorded 9.73%, Chennai South recorded 10.08% and Chennai Central recorded 8.59%.
City constituencies had a lesser voter turnout as of 9 am compared to Tamil Nadu’s average which is 12.5%.
