Chennai rain: Water enters Chromepet govt hospital, patients shifted to first floor

after heavy rain on Thursday night, forcing doctors and paramedical staff to shift patients from the ground floor to the first floor.

At least 60 patients had been shifted from the ground floor to the first floor, doctors said.

Officials from the Public Works Department rushed to the spot on Friday morning to pump out water and to place sandbags to prevent further flooding.

Areas around the hospitals were inundated in Thursday's downpour. It is a low-lying area.
