CHENNAI: One died, and four people were injured when they went to put out a fire by dropping a wet gunny bag on a burning LPG cylinder at a house in Triplicane on Friday. As the fire spread, the people who attempted to stop the flames suffered severe burns.

Police recovered seven empty commercial gas cylinders from their house on Rotary Main Road in Triplicane. Initially, it was suspected that the fire triggered when someone tried to transfer gas from a domestic gas cylinder to a commercial one. Later, police found that the deceased

On information, fire and rescue services personnel from the Mylapore fire station extinguished the fire. The injured were sent to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital while Meeran’s body was sent to Government Royapettah Hospital for an postmortem.
