CHENNAI: The Metrowater has implemented measures to tackle water supply and sewage issues during the monsoon across the 15 zones of the Greater Chennai Corporation.

A round-the-clock monitoring and control centre was established to address public complaints regarding water supply and sewage management. Residents can lodge complaints via a helpline at 044-45674567 (20 lines) or through the toll-free number 1916.

Cyclone Fengal Live Updates:

To clear sewers and remove sewage overflows, the board deployed 642 sewage-clearing machines, including 299 desilting machines, 73 high-speed sewage suction vehicles, 225 jet-rodding vehicles, and 45 additional sewage vehicles brought from other districts.

Over 2,149 field workers were mobilised to ensure the smooth functioning of water supply and sewage clearance.

Residents were also asked to use social media to share grievances.
