Chennai Metro Rail signs contract to install tracks in phase-2 corridor
CHENNAI: Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) signed a contract with Larsen & Toubro Limited for installation of ballastless tracks on corridor-3 of phase-2 from Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sholinganallur.
“The scope of the contract involves supply, installation, testing and commissioning of ballastless track of standard gauge including all associated works in underground and elevated sections from Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sholinganallur of corridor-3,” the release said.
The contract issued was part of JICA funding for phase-2. This is the last track tender awarded for phase-2.
T Archunan, director (projects), CMRL, and Sunil Khattar, vice-president, head-metro business unit, L&T signed the contract agreement.

CMRL major contracts cornered by Larsen & Tubro due to close proximity to Delhi sultans. They will hire sub contractors and reap benefits. Due to same party awarded major contracts work schedule will be affected and cost run will increase due to delay in completion of projects.Read allPost comment
