CHENNAI: Mayor R Priya on Tuesday inaugurated a playfield in Perumal Koil Street at Nerkundram which was developed at a cost of ₹50 lakh under the Singara Chennai 2.0 project.

The facility, covering 1,572.56 square metre, includes a walking track, open-air gym equipment, a children’s play area, a kabaddi ground, toilets and streetlights.

Developed by the Greater Chennai Corporation in ward 145 in Valasaravakkam zone, the playfield will benefit residents of Pallavan Nagar, Matha Koil Street, Perumal Koil Street, Krishna Nagar, Sakthi Nagar, and Alagammal Nagar.

The inauguration event was attended by Maduravoyal MLA K Ganapathi, deputy mayor M Mahesh Kumar, south regional deputy commissioner M P Amit, zonal chairman Nolambur V Rajan and council members T Sathiyanathan, V Kritharan, Shanthi Ramalingam, A Stalin, R Selvi Ramesh and M Ramani Madhavan.
