CHENNAI: With new business schools coming up almost every day, one more from the stable of
BS Abdur Rahman University
joins the race.
It will be one with a difference, said
Kanak Ghosh
, programme head of the newly launched Crescent School of Business.
"Most top-end business schools are attached to a university —
Chicago Booth School of Business
is attached to Chicago University. Wharton School of Business is attached to the
University of Pennsylvania
. This way, business schools can offer blended learning, taking the best of liberal arts and business disciplines like finance, marketing. This is what we hope to achieve at
CBS
," he said.
CBS which will begin classes from August 1 is looking at an unconventional way of taking in students for its one-year PG diploma in management. "We have faculty drawn from prestigious institutes like IIMs, Indian School of Business and Wharton School of Business. It is only befitting that intellect students join the class to stimulate interesting debates and discussions. We will be selecting students through essays and personal interviews as opposed to selection process based on scores in CAT and GMAT," said V
Murugesan, registrar, BS Abdur Rahman University.
Admissions are on. The course fee is 5 lakh. An additional fee of 2 lakh will be taken for accommodation on campus. For details log onto www.csbedu.in.
