CHENNAI: The Greater Chennai Corporation on Tuesday removed close to 10 tonne of waste from the Thiruvanmiyur Beach.
GCC commissioner Dr J Radhakrishnan, who inspected the beach, said despite keeping 58 bins and appealing to people to throw them in the bins, people still littered.
"We also conducted a vacant plot garbage and debris removal drive. Owners were advised to monitor their plots and prevent them from becoming a dumping ground for neighbours," he added.
