in Chennai to the US by a Delhi-based person. The parcels, which were declared as documents, contained 1,980 tramadol hydrochloride tablets (100mg).

in Chennai to the US by a Delhi-based person were examined on suspicion. The parcels contained 1,200 zolpidem tartrate (IP 10 mg) tablets and 1,000 tramadol hydrochloride (100mg) tablets.

Tramadol hydrochloride and zolpidem tartrate (IP 10 mg) tablets fall in category of psychotropic substances as mentioned in the schedule to the

Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act

, 1985, export of which are prohibited without any export authorisation issued by a competent authority.
