CHENNAI: Rejecting chief ministerial-level talks to resolve the ongoing
Cauvery dispute,
Tamil Nadu water resources minister Duraimurugan on Wednesday said it would amount to Tamil Nadu losing its ‘legal weapon’.
He ruled out an all-party meeting as well ahead of the Supreme Court hearing on September 21.
Duraimurugan told reporters
Karnataka had been consistently opposing the Tamil Nadu government’s efforts in the past, beginning with constitution of Cauvery water disputes tribunal to securing interim award of the tribunal and the Union government gazetting the final award.
“We faced them and secured the state’s rights. We will do it again,” the minister said.
