Bugging device at Ramadoss’s farmhouse: Police begin probe

VILLUPURAM: PMK founder S Ramadoss said the person who planted a bugging device in his farmhouse at Thailapuram near Tindivanam in Villupuram district will be known in a day or two. He told reporters after a five-member special police team led by Kiliyanoor cybercrime police inspector Kalaiarasi conducted a two-hour inquiry on Thursday at his farmhouse following his complaint that a bugging device was planted at his farmhouse.

The planting of bugging device episode gained media attention after the rift between Ramadoss and his son and party president Anbumani Ramadoss to take control of the party.

Ramadoss went on to the extent of demoting Anbumani from the post of president to working president and declared that he will be the president of the party until his last breath.

As the father-son fight reached a point of no return, Ramadoss dropped a bomb shell claiming that a device had been found near the place where he usually sits in his Thailapuram home. He claimed it was a high-end spy device fitted with a SIM card sourced from London and expressed concern about who had planted it. Following this, he contacted a private detective agency based in Chennai to investigate who had planted the device in his home.
