Boy hacks father to death in Tamil Nadu

MADURAI: A 15-year-old boy hacked his father to death in Tamil Nadu’s Tuticorin on Sunday night as the latter was beating his wife in an inebriated state.

The man, who was a cook, used to beat his wife after drinking liquor.

He came home drunk on Sunday night and picked up a quarrel with her, as usual. As he started beating his wife, the 15-year-old boy, who is the eldest of the three children of the couple, picked up a sickle and hacked him. The man died on the spot.

Neighbours, who heard the commotion, alerted Thenpagam police. Police rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body of the man. The minor boy was taken into police custody for further investigation.
