Beheaded body found at ‘Singam police station’
TUTICORIN: Crows hovering over an abandoned building in Tuticorin -- which was last used 12 years ago as a police station for shooting the Tamil film ‘Singam’ starring Suriya -- helped police find the beheaded body of an unidentified man on Saturday morning. People grew suspicious when they found crows flying in large numbers over the building. The building belonging to the Tamil Nadu State Palm and Fibre Marketing Cooperative Federation is more than 50 years old. Locals said that building was never utilized by the public, making it an ideal spot for the murder. The Tuticorin South police retrieved the body from the roof of the building and sent it to the Thoothukudi Medical College Hospital for postmortem. Tuticorin district superintendent of police Balaji Saravanan visited the spot. Police said that the motive behind the murder and the suspects would be known only after identifying the victim.
