CHENNAI: Archana Patnaik has been appointed as the chief electoral officer of Tamil Nadu, said an official release from the Election Commission of India on Friday.
Archana Patnaik succeeds Satyabrata Sahoo, who was recently given additional charge of animal husbandry, dairying, fisheries and fishermen welfare department.
The ECI in consultation with state govt has designated Patnaik, an IAS officer of the 2002 batch, as the CEO.
The ECI communication said Archana Patnaik shall cease to hold and hand over forthwith the charge of all or any charges of work under govt of Tamil Nadu, which she may be holding before assumption of office. Patnaik was MSME secretary, before her appointment as CEO.
