Anbumani warns against AP making dams

Chennai: The state government should take legal action to prevent the construction of dams across the Kosasthalaiyar river by the Andhra Pradesh government, failing which many districts including Chennai would be badly affected, said PMK president Anbumani Ramdoss.He participated in the demonstrations in Pallipattu in Tiruvallur district on Tuesday. Anbumani said there was information that the AP government proposed to construct two dams across the Kosasthalaiyar river. If this is done it would render many districts in Tamil Nadu, including Tiruvallur, barren, he said. Kosasthalaiyar river feeds Poondi lake, which is one of Chennai’s major water sources. tnn
