CHENNAI: With almost seven months away for the assembly elections in
Tamil Nadu, the ruling
AIADMK has launched its campaign on Monday, on the auspicious Vijayadasami.
The IT wing launched the ‘Manasellam EPS, Makkalukkaga EPS’ (EPS in our hearts, EPS is for people) by projecting chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami as the party’s CM candidate for the 2021 assembly elections, as proposed by deputy chief minister and AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam on October 7, sources in the party said.
The five-week blended campaign, comprising both online and offline initiatives, will be run based on one theme per week. In the first phase, the party has put up posters and light hoardings on lamp posts across Chennai. The first week’s
campaign has been spun around ‘He cares for us; We love him’ theme, depicting people from various segments expressing it.
The campaign aims to highlight the achievements of the AIADMK government under the leadership of Palaniswami and how the initiatives undertaken by this government endeared him to the people.
“We will ensure that the government’s achievements are propagated up to the grassroot level and why this AIADMK government, headed by our chief minister, should come back to power for the welfare of the state and its people,” AIADMK IT wing’s Chennai zone secretary Aspire K Swaminathan told TOI.
Earlier too, the party’s IT wing had chosen the auspicious Vijayadasami day to launch its campaigns for the 2014 parliamentary elections as well as for the 2016 assembly election.
