Actor Ravi Maria files complaint against fraudsters

CHENNAI: Film director and actor Ravi Maria has lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police that fraudsters have created a fake Instagram account in his name and requested money from his friends. The actor requested his friends on social media not to fall prey to the phishers after lodging a complaint.

When contacted, cyber crime police from Chennai south zone said that one of the actor's friends sent 7,000 to the imposter believing that it was indeed Ravi Maria.

He later checked with the actor on suspicion and realised he was duped. To avoid such incidents further, the actor has sought police's help, apart from releasing a video clip.
