Actor charged with assault

CHENNAI: Tarun Kumar, a 25-year-old tattooist, was attacked by actor Dev Enthran with a liquor bottle early on Saturday at a hotel on Dr Radhakrishnan Salai, police said.
According to the complaint lodged by Laxmi, the tattooist’s wife, they were leaving the restaurant in the hotel when Dev Enthran appeared and insisted that Tarun Kumar withdraw the theft complaint filed by him last year against Dev Enthran and two others.
“We refused to withdraw the complaint and tried to leave when Dev Enthran pulled out a liquor bottle and hit my husband on his head. He hit him twice. He suffered bleeding injuries,” Laxmi said. Police registered a case against Dev Enthran.
Tarun Kumar had lodged a theft complaint last November after jewellery worth 7 lakh went missing from his house during a party.
