major shakeup

of senior and mid-level police officers in the state, Tamil Nadu government on Saturday appointed

A K Viswanathan

as

commissioner of Greater Chennai

Police. He replaces

Karan Singha

who has now been transferred and posted as member of Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board.

M Ravi has been posted as ADGP, headquarters in the existing vacancy, while Sunil Kumar Singh as additional commandant-general of home guards.
Superintendent of Police, ET Samson, on compulsory wait, has been posted as deputy commissioner of police, security, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai in the existing vacancy.

M V Jayagowri has been posted as superintendent of police/chief security officer, Chennai Metro Rail Limited. S Saravanan has become deputy commissioner, headquarters, Greater Chennai Police, in the existing vacancy.

N Manivannan, who is on compulsory wait, has been posted as deputy commissioner of police, traffic, Madurai. V Jayashree is the new chief vigilance officer, Transport Corporation, Salem, in a newly created post.

A Kayalvizhi becomes deputy commissioner of police, law and order, Tirupur city, while M Durai deputy commissioner of police, traffic, Coimbatore city. S Maheswaran, who is on compulsory wait becomes superintendent of police/assistant inspector general of police, law and order, Chennai, in the existing vacancy.

Disha Mittal has been posted as superintendent of police, Perambalur district. Sonal Chandra is the new superintendent of police, civil supplies CID, Chennai, replacing N Z Asiammal, who has now become superintendent of police, crime branch CID-III in the existing vacancy.
