A Arun is new CoP of Avadi

Chennai: In a major shuffle, the Tamil Nadu government has transferred and posted 39 IPS officers in the state, including five being promoted to DGP, as per the state home department’s order issued on Friday. Sandeep Rai Rathore, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Avadi Commissionerate has been promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) and posted as the head of Police Training Academy in Oonamancherry. A Arun, ADGP of Civil Supplies CID, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Police of Avadi. V V Sai Preenath is appointed Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chengalpet district, while G Shashank Sai is posted as the SP, of Villupuram district. The then Villupuram SP Shreenatha was placed under suspension and Chengalpet SP A Pradeep was transferred and posted under the compulsory wait after the hooch tragedy claiming 22 lives rattled the state administration. Rajeev Kumar, ADGP, who is in deputation with the Government of India, has been promoted as DGP. Abhay Kumar Singh, ADGP of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) has been promoted as DGP and he will continue with the same post after the DVAC director post has been upgraded to DGP. K Vannia Perumal, ADGP of Vigilance in Tandgedco has been promoted as DGP, in the newly created post, in the same division. The additional commissioner of police of north Chennai has been posted as the IGP of CB-CID, SP S Saravanan of the special branch CID will hold additional charge as the organised crime intelligence unit (OCIU), SP Shreya Gupta is posted as the deputy commissioner of police (DCP) of the Flower Bazaar district.
