CHENNAI: Around 859 air warriors were inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF) at a passing out parade held at the Air Force Station Tambaram on Friday. They completed 64 weeks of training.
Air vice marshal Uday Chawla, Command Technical Training Officer, Training Command, IAF, reviewed the parade and urged the air warriors to continuously enhance their technical knowledge and skills by keeping themselves abreast with the latest changes.
"With the induction of the state-of-the-art aircraft, equipment and weapon system, the IAF is witnessing major changes in operational philosophy and is on the path of transforming itself into a strategic force of great calibre."
He presented awards and trophies to the meritorious trainees.
The air warriors performed aerobics, martial arts, synchronized drill, close quarter battle, physical training display, yoga and cycle display, which were appreciated by one and all.
The best all-rounder trophy was given to leading aircraftman Sachin Mishra, the in general service training was given to aircraftman Pulkit Bhyan.
