Chennai: Four people, including two women, were killed in three separate accidents in the city since Monday night.
At 11.30pm on Monday, Ravi, 25, and his friend Rajalakshmi, 22, a bank employee, were returning from work when they met with an accident on the Ennore Expressway near Tiruvottiyur. Both were residents of Minjur, police said. They were on a two-wheeler when a container truck knocked them down while overtaking them.

The driver, Anjaneyalu Reddy, 42, of Vijayawada was arrested.
In another accident near Poonamallee, V Ponni, 52, a resident of James Street, was walking back home after buying tea from a shop when a share autorickshaw mowed her down around 7am on Tuesday. She was rushed to a private hospital where she was declared brought dead. Poonamalee traffic investigation wing have arrested the driver Radhakrishnan.
Later in the day, an automobile firm employee, Dinesh Murali, 35, died when a motorbike hit him on 1st Street, CIT Nagar. Praveen Kumar, 25, a BPO employee was riding the bike and he too suffered grievous injuries, police said. Guindy traffic investigation wing are investigating.
