Chennai: The
MDMK
has suspended three district secretaries from their posts for questioning the elevation of general secretary Vaiko’s son
Durai Vaiko
in the party hierarchy. A statement from
Vaiko said three district secretaries, S Sevanthiappan (SIvaganga), T R R Senguttuvan (
Thiruvallur
) and R M Shanmugasundaram (
Virudhunagar
), are being suspended from all the party posts that they hold. The action was being taken as the three functionaries were “acting in a manner that disrupted order in the party”. A committee would probe the complaints against them and take a final decision, Vaiko said. tnn
