18 complaints of fraud filed against Madhan

CHENNAI: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have received at least 18 cheating complaints against Vendhar Movies proprietor S Madhan, who went missing last Sunday.
Police officers said Madhan took not less than 50 lakh from each complainant and made away with several crores of rupees.
"We have conducting questioning the complainants and will soon question officials of the institution mentioned in the complaint," a senior police officer said."We have not registered a case so far."
On Wednesday night, around 12 parents staged a protest in front of SRM Group founder T R Pachaimuthu's house in Valsaravakkam. They claimed they had given money to Madhan for medical seats for their children. Since he has gone missing with their money, they wanted Pachaimuthu to help them.
On Tuesday, Venkatesan, of Trichy lodged a complaint, stating that he paid Madhan 62 lakh for a seat in SRM Medical College in the current year. tnn
"We gave the money to Madhan at his office in Vadapalani, but he failed to get us the seat he promised," said Venkatesan, who wanted a seat for his son Akash.
