CHANDIGARH: On Saturday, city's youths came out on streets again. Though they had been doing so over the past four days to join the protest by Anna Hazare for enactment of Jan Lokpal Bill, this time it was different. They were there to celebrate the victory of this veteran Gandhian against corruption.
They were seen chanting the slogans ''Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and ''Vande Matram''.

They had been holding various kinds of demonstrations to support Hazare's campaign. And when they heard that Union government had accepted his demands and that the leader would break his fast, many started dancing and hugging each other on the streets.
The dhols came out in Sector-17 plaza, where hundreds had gathered to celebrate the victory in the campaign. ''We often sit at home and complain against the system. But who will fight against the system? If every individual comes out of their homes like today, nothing can stop us from acquiring our goal,' said 25-year-old Nidhi, a resident of Mohali.
''I heard about this celebration through my friend and decided to be a part of it. People who are present here are strangers to me, but I still feel that we are somehow related as we are celebrating for a common cause,' said Niharika, 24, a resident of Panchkula.
Youngsters and others also carried out a candle-light march in the Sector-17 plaza in support of the victory campaign against corruption. ''I was on a hunger strike for two days and ended it when Anna Hazare did so. It is a proud moment for every citizen of the country as today we are united in the true sense,'said Deepika Gupta, founder of Students' Human Rights Network in Panjab University.
