Youth drugged, robbed at Z’pur hotel
Mohali: A young woman allegedly drugged and robbed a youth after befriending him through a dating app. The incident took place at a hotel located on the Zirakpur-Panchkula Road. The accused left the victim unconscious and fled with cash, high-end mobile phones, and gold jewellery. Zirakpur police registered a case and launched a search for the accused.According to the police complaint, the victim said the woman introduced herself as Simran and claimed to be a resident of Patiala. After chatting on WhatsApp for several days, they decided to meet, said Zirakpur SHO, inspector Satinder Singh.

As per the plan, they met at a hotel on the Zirakpur-Panchkula Road on Feb 5. The victim reached the hotel around 5.30pm and booked a room. The complainant said he fell asleep around 11pm. When he woke up the next morning, the woman was missing.On checking his belongings, the victim found that an Apple iPhone, a Samsung Z Fold mobile phone, a gold chain, a bracelet, two rings, and around Rs 45,000 cash were missing. He immediately alerted the police.Police checked the hotel's CCTV camera footage, which showed the woman leaving the hotel at around 2.20am, carrying the victim's belongings.
The victim later came to know that the woman had given him a fake identity. She was identified as Usha alias Neetika, a resident of Panipat in Haryana.The victim suspects that he was drugged, due to which he fell into a deep sleep. Police said a case was registered under relevant sections of BNS. Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused and hotel staff are being questioned. MSID:: 128163586 413 |
